“Gregorio Luke gives the most extraordinary lectures that can be seen on Earth. I have never seen anything as instructive or moving as his presentations on great artists that he makes even greater with his words.”

Elena Poniatowska, Miguel de Cervantes Prize Winner

“Gregorio Luke gives cultural lectures with the fervor and reverence of a missionary hungry for converts…He slips into a trance of extemporaneous eloquence. He closes his eyes, tilts his head back, puts his arms out and seems to lift off the podium.”

Agustín Gurza, Los Angeles Times

About Gregorio

Gregorio Luke is the former Director of the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach CA and Co-Founder of the Mexican Cultural Institute in Washington, D.C.

Described as the “Christo of the Art Lecture” and the male "Sister Wendy,” Gregorio has earned an international following for his dynamic and deeply human presentations on art and culture. His live lectures and large-scale Murals Under the Stars events combine the visual impact of cinema with brilliant interpretation, transforming art history into a living experience.

Raised between New York City and Mexico City, Gregorio discovered early the transformative power of the arts to bridge worlds and expand understanding. Over his career, he has become one of the foremost speakers on art and culture in North America, lecturing for institutions including the Smithsonian, the Library of Congress, Harvard University, Johns Hopkins, the National Museum for Women in the Arts, Disney, the Detroit Institute of Arts, and Mexico’s Palacio de Bellas Artes among many others.

Today, Gregorio continues his mission through Art for Older Adults, a series of illustrated lectures and salons designed to engage, inspire, and connect older adults through the shared experience of art. In an era often described as the age of yearning, Gregorio invites audiences to rediscover it as the age of learning—a time to rekindle curiosity, creativity, and joy through the stories and visions of the world’s great artists.

Gregorio’s work is dedicated to connecting people with the arts as a source of meaning, insight, and renewal. For him, art is much more than beauty—it is a way of bringing dignity, passion, and hope to life.
